School of Building Services Science & Engineering

Established in 2018,theSchool of Building Services Science and Engineering, offers three undergraduateprograms: Built Environment and Energy Application Engineering, Building Electricity and Intelligence, and Energy Storage Science and Engineering. The first two are among the first group of National First-Class UndergraduatePrograms. TheSchool has established a comprehensive talent cultivation system covering bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degrees,with acurrent enrollment of1,635 students.Itboasts astrongfacultyteam, with 92.5% ofitsfull-time teachers holding doctoral degrees, andis home toone "National Huang Danian-style TeachingTeam".

Focusingon interdisciplinary innovation inbuiltenvironment,intelligentcontrol, andenergy &powerengineering.the School hosts the the national key cultivated discipline and doctoral program inHeating, Gas Supply, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning Engineering.Itsscientific research closely aligns with national strategies such as carbon peaking and carbon neutrality, featuring four distinctive research teams:

The Underground Space Environment Control Team, focusing on environmental control technologies for complex underground cavern groups, has achieved breakthroughs in key technical challenges in the field;

The Industrial Building Environment and Energy Efficiency Team, dedicated to industrial building energy-saving technologies, has applied its innovations in more than 70 engineering projects across China and Belt and Road partner countries;

The Solar Buildings and Built Environment Team, specializing in ultra-low-energy-consumption technologies, has completed multiple demonstration projects in regions with extreme climates;

The Building Intelligent Information Technology Team, committed to smart operation and maintenance technologies, has developed intelligent platforms supporting the development of smart buildings and smart cities.

In recent years, theSchool has undertaken 15 key national-level research projects andreceived3national-levelawards, including the State Technological Invention Award and the State Science and Technology Progress Award, along with 28 provincial-and ministerial-level awards.The School places strongemphasisoninternationalization,maintaining cooperation with several prestigious Nordic universities, leading the establishment of 2 international academic organizations, and securing approval for 3 provincial-andministerial-level international cooperation platforms.

Guided by the philosophy of being "Innovation-driven, Learning-oriented, Harmonious, and Internationalized," theSchool will continue to deepen interdisciplinary integration in the future, striving to contribute to the global development of low-carbon and intelligent built environments.
