Talent is the primary resource driving a university’s development. Recognizing this, XAUAT places great importance on faculty development and has established dedicated leadership and support structures for talent affairs and the management of high-level professionals. By vigorously implementing the "talent-driven development strategy", the University continues to innovate its talent development mechanisms, improve faculty cultivation systems, and foster an environment conducive to professional growth.
Through sustained efforts, the University has achieved steady growth in faculty size and continuous improvement in its faculty composition while an increasing number of high-caliber scholars have emerged and overall faculty quality has improved significantly. Consequently, a high-caliber faculty team characterized by strong professional ethics, outstanding expertise, a well-balanced structure, and dynamic vitality has gradually taken shape, providing solid support for the University’s high-quality development.
The University currently has over 3,200 faculty and staff members, including more than 1,300 teaching, laboratory, and engineering and other professionals with senior professional titles, as well as over 2,200 full-time faculty members. The University has actively recruited talented scholars from prestigious universities and research institutes in China and abroad. At present, 57% of full-time faculty members have obtained their highest degrees from institutions other than XAUAT. Over the past five years, XAUAT has recruited 466 faculty members with doctoral degrees, increasing the proportion of faculty holding doctoral degrees to 60.8%, while 51.1% of the faculty members now hold senior professional titles. Meanwhile, the University has sponsored 62 faculty members to undertake visiting research and academic training at renowned overseas institutions. As a result, over 30% of its current faculty international academic or professional experience.
