XAUAT News Network— From December 11 to 16, a delegation of 10 faculty members and students from the Industrial Design program at Adelaide University  visited Xi’an University of Architecture and Technology (XAUAT) for a six-day academic exchange program. The visit was jointly organized by the International Office of Adelaide University and XAUAT’s Office of International Affairs, An De College, School of Architecture, and School of Arts. Through a combination of academic exchange, cultural immersion, and professional practice, the program provided a valuable platform for mutual learning and collaboration between faculty and students from both universities.

At the School of Arts, faculty and students from both institutions participated in a joint workshop themed “Sustainable Design.” Chinese and Australian students were organized into mixed teams to collaborate on design projects. This cross-cultural learning environment not only enhanced students’ practical professional skills but also fostered their global perspectives and teamwork capabilities.

At An De College, participants engaged in a range of cultural and recreational activities, including a hands-on experience of traditional Chinese paper-cutting art and archery, allowing them to gain a deeper appreciation of Chinese culture while strengthening interpersonal connections.

During their stay, the delegation also visited the State Key Laboratory of Green Building, the University Libraries, and the Museum of Traditional Chinese Tile Craftsmanship.

The visit by Adelaide University’s Industrial Design delegation reflects XAUAT’s continued progress in internationalizing its educational programs and provides valuable experience for advancing international cooperation in disciplinary development and talent cultivation. Looking ahead, the two universities will pursue more substantive collaboration in areas such as student exchanges, faculty mobility, and joint research, working together to cultivate high-caliber talents with global vision and innovative capabilities.
