XAUAT News Network - On April 9, President Zhao Xiangmo met with a delegation led byMs. Lori Hawking, Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Adelaide University, at the VIP Hall of Yicheng Innovation Center. Vice President Chen Rong presided over the meeting.
President Zhao extended a warm welcome toMs.Hawking and her delegation. He highlighted Adelaide University’s distinguished faculty, outstanding research capabilities, and extensive global influence as one of Australia’s most prominent research-intensive universities. He noted that XAUAT remains steadfast in its commitment to open education and actively expands global partnerships. Adelaide University stands as a crucial partner, and the jointly establishedAn De College has evolved into a benchmark for high-level educational cooperation, consistently enhancing its cultivation quality and earning widespread acclaim. President Zhao expressed his hope that both universities would build upon existing collaborations to further broaden cooperation in disciplines, scientific research, faculty exchange, and talent cultivation, yielding even more fruitful outcomes.
Ms. Hawking thanked XAUAT for its warm reception. She affirmed that Adelaide University attaches great importance to its partnership with XAUAT and regards An De College as a model of China-Australia educational cooperation. Dedicated to providing world-class educational resources for students globally, she noted that the bilateral cooperation is poised for new development opportunities. She expressed eagerness to expand the scope of collaboration, jointly promoting the deep integration of scientific research and talent cultivation.
Following the meeting, both parties held discussions in the conference room on the third floor of the Administration Building. Attendees included the Pro-Vice-Chancellor and Director of International Affairs from Adelaide University, as well as heads of XAUAT’s Office of InternationalAffairsand the An De College.
During themeeting, Vice President Chen Rong emphasized that An De College has steadily advanced in program development, curriculum integration, faculty growth, and talent cultivation, serving as a flagship platform for XAUAT’s internationalization and a successful model of China-Australia higher education cooperation. He expressed his desire to join hands with Adelaide University to consolidate friendship, expand cooperationscope, elevate collaboration levels, and deepen practical cooperation in joint talent cultivation, faculty and academic exchanges, collaborative innovation in scientific research, and educational reform. This joint effort aims to contribute significantly to China-Australia people-to-people exchanges, higher education cooperation, and technological progress.
During her visit,Ms. Hawking and her delegationvisited the Yicheng Science and Technology Museum, laboratories at the Schools of Civil Engineering, Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, Information and Control Engineering, and Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, and engaged in discussions with faculty and students of the An De College.
